What to Expect at Your Initial Assessment
At your first appointment we’ll take time to understand your symptoms, medical history, and what you want to get back to. We’ll then complete a thorough physical assessment (movement, strength, joint/tissue tests as appropriate) to identify what’s driving the problem. Before you leave, you’ll have a clear explanation of what we think is going on, what will help, and a practical plan for the next steps (which may include hands-on treatment and/or tailored exercises).
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral?
No — you can book directly without a GP or consultant referral. If you’ve been referred by a healthcare professional, you’re welcome to bring any letters or reports with you.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book online via our booking system, or contact reception:
Do you offer same-day or urgent appointments?
Sometimes, depending on availability. If you need an urgent appointment, call reception and we’ll do our best to find you the earliest suitable slot (or advise the best next step if we’re fully booked).
What should I expect from my first appointment?
A detailed assessment, clear explanation, and a plan. We’ll discuss your goals, assess the area properly, and agree the best route forward. If appropriate, we may start treatment on the day and give you specific exercises or advice to begin immediately.
Do you accept insurance?
In most cases, no. We’re a self-pay clinic and we don’t generally work with insurance companies because they typically won’t cover our full fees and the admin requirements can compromise the time we keep for patient care. If you’d like to self-fund and claim back privately (where your policy allows), we can provide an invoice/receipt for your insurer.
