Rehab Zone
The Rehab Zone at East Devon Physical Therapy is our dedicated injury rehabilitation centre in Axminster, built for people who want more than a generic exercise sheet. It’s where expert clinical care meets performance-level rehab—helping you rebuild strength, restore confidence, and return to work, sport, and day-to-day life with a plan that’s measurable and progressive.
A rehab service built around assessment, not assumptions
Every programme starts with a thorough assessment so we understand your injury history, current symptoms, goals, and what’s actually limiting you right now. From there we design a personalised rehab pathway that targets the root cause of your problem—whether that’s reduced strength, poor load tolerance, movement compensation, balance deficits, or loss of fitness after time off. Your plan is then progressed based on how you respond, not on a fixed template.
Advanced rehab technology (used properly, when it matters)
Our Rehab Zone is centred around gold-standard equipment that’s rare to find in the region—especially in a private clinic setting.
- HUR SmartTouch Training Zone: a high-precision rehabilitation system using pneumatic air resistance (including “zero starting load”), allowing controlled training even when you’re sensitive, post-op, or rebuilding from a flare-up. Progressions can be made in very small steps (100g increments), which is ideal for tendon rehab, joint pain, and long-term conditions where the right dose matters. Sessions can be tracked digitally so progress is objective, not guesswork.
- AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill: supports a percentage of your body weight so you can walk or run with reduced impact. It’s ideal for return-to-running plans, stress injuries, post-op rehab, persistent pain, and anyone who needs to rebuild capacity without repeatedly aggravating symptoms. It also allows real-time gait review to help refine technique and loading.
Who the Rehab Zone is for
This is a great fit if you’re recovering from injury or surgery, managing arthritis or ongoing joint pain, returning after a long lay-off, rebuilding strength and mobility, or working through neurological rehabilitation (including stroke recovery). It’s also ideal for active people who want structured, sport-specific rehab rather than “rest and hope”.
Clear outcomes and a confident return
Rehab should be progressive, measurable, and tailored. In the Rehab Zone, you’ll get expert guidance, structured sessions, and a plan that evolves as you improve—so you can move better, get stronger, and return to the things you love with confidence.
