Physiotherapist MSc
BSc, MSc (Sports Science), MSc (Physiotherapy), MCSP, HCPC
Ryan brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, exercise science, and real-world coaching experience to East Devon Physical Therapy. Originally from Dorset, he returned to his home county to complete his MSc in Physiotherapy at Health Sciences University (HSU) after spending several years living and working across the South of England. He is delighted to be back enjoying the Dorset lifestyle and supporting the local community.
Before qualifying as a physiotherapist, Ryan spent over a decade working as a Personal Trainer and managing fitness facilities across Winchester, Dorchester, Exeter, and Taunton. Driven by a passion for helping people move better and perform at their best, he returned to university ten years after completing his first Master’s degree in Sports Science to further develop his clinical knowledge and impact.
Ryan’s dual Master’s background allows him to bridge the gap between performance and rehabilitation. His treatment approach is firmly rooted in the power of movement, combining extensive experience in exercise prescription with the latest evidence-based practice to help patients achieve meaningful, long-term results. Whether supporting recovery from injury, managing persistent pain, or helping individuals return to the activities they enjoy, Ryan focuses on practical, personalised rehabilitation strategies that empower patients throughout their recovery journey.
Sport has always played a significant role in Ryan’s life. He has previously played rugby and football, competed in athletics for Exeter Harriers at both U15 and U18 level, and later competed as a lightweight powerlifter in the U74kg and U83kg categories. This personal sporting experience provides valuable insight into the physical and mental demands of training, competition, injury, and recovery.
Outside of the clinic, Ryan enjoys exploring the Dorset coastline, staying active, and making the most of the outdoors whenever possible.
